// Third Annual Women’s Leadership Forum: Successful You Succeeds
On October 4, 2012 Microsoft was proud to partner with Massachusetts Innovation & Technology Exchange (MITX) and The Commonwealth Institute (TCI) to host The Successful You: 2013 Women’s Leadership Forum. The event was a terrific success – 275 attendees, 26 speakers, 40 volunteers, 30 young women representing the Girl Scouts and Science Club for Girls at the Girls in STEM track and countless memorable moments. Some highlights from the forum include:
- Naomi Fried, Chief Innovation Officer at Boston Children’s Hospital shared some of the amazing innovations people at Children’s are pioneering. For example, practitioners at Children’s are developing a new process to diagnose Plagiocephaly, or flat head syndrome – an issue that impacts so many babies today, but initiating contact with and expert is a lengthy process – Boston Children’s Hospital is exploring how a few digital photos can enable doctors to begin the diagnosis process.
- Perry Hewitt, Chief Digital Officer at Harvard University encouraged all of us to be more supportive of other women.
- Lisa Brummel, Microsoft’s Chief People Officer, shared some unforgettable experiences from her career spanning product development tot human resources at Microsoft.
And those were just a few of the moments that have stuck with us since the event.
This year, we aimed to deliver terrific sessions that gave attendees actionable plans to grow careers and build skills. In addition to some phenomenal panels, the workshops helped attendees think about executive presence (Diane Ripstien) and creating a culture of employee engagement (Susan David).
Special thanks to all of the fantastic speakers, the amazing women on the steering committee who planned the agenda and recruited the speakers, and most of all – thank you to all of you for making the day such a success! Each and every one of you dedicated time and energy to be present at the forum and we genuinely appreciate it. We hope to see you at next year’s event!
What’s next? We look forward to hosting the fourth annual Women’s History Month programming in March 2013. Details will be posted on microsoftcambridge.com.
Thanks again for your continued support of The Successful You.
